Ms Heather Rebecca Green

Heather Rebecca Green of Jackson, MS went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 41 on November 24, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with complications from diabetes. She passed away in her sleep at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Born on May 4, 1982, Heather was the daughter of Dr. Stephen R. Green and the late Mrs. Judy Locke Green. She graduated from Leake Academy in 2000. Heather loved to talk and connect with the people around her. She shared a special bond with both her father and her grandmother and never missed a day speaking with them. Her sons Gabe and Graham were her heart, and she spoke often of the fine young men they are becoming. Heather was a wonderful storyteller and loved making people laugh. Her favorite stories were often about her own escapades growing up, but she was just as likely to lovingly poke fun at her family or friends. Her gifts to others were not just the stories she told, but also her ability to make others feel included and loved regardless of who they were or how long she knew them. Heather was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, attending with her family whenever she visited. Her faith grew stronger as her body grew weaker. She was comforted knowing that she was in the Lord’s hands, and she trusted in His plans for her. Heather is survived by her children; Gabriel Brown and Graham Brown of Edinburg MS, father; Dr. Stephen R. Green and his wife Mary Jean, siblings; James (Kimberly) Massey, Jeffery (Dabbs) Massey, Tiffany (Helen) Green and niece and nephews; Katelyn Massey, Logan Massey, Dylan Massey, Sterling Massey, and Rhodes Massey. She is preceded in death by her mother, Judy Locke Green, and her grandparents, E.L. and Mildred Locke, Nell Green, and Randy Green. Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am Monday, November 27, 2023 with Rev. Catherine Parker Larsen and Rev. Barbara Taylor officiating. Services will be held at at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at Fuston Cemetery in Walnut Grove, MS. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation for the healthcare teams at UMMC, the Madden Lighthouse, and Community Place who were a vital part of her life in the last 18 months.
