Mrs Louann Gross

Louann Gross Gatlinburg, TN Louann Gross, 91, of Gatlinburg, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2021 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Originally from Park City, Utah, she grew up in Bovina, Mississippi. Her parents, Eric and Shirley Prince Wallberg, passed away when she was a child, and she was reared by her uncle and aunt, William Prince and his wife Ada Maples Prince. Following graduation, Louann attended Mississippi State College for Women. She later worked in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Elmer Gross. Together they laid a strong foundation of faith for their family of four children. She also shared that faith through her service in the churches in her community to which she belonged and is currently a member of First Baptist Church, Gatlinburg, Tennessee. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, Grandmommy/Grammy, and friend. 'Aunt Lou' was also dearly loved by her extended family. Some favorite memories include her wonderful laugh which permeated her relationships. Her home was always open to family and friends where everyone was cared for, hugged, and loved. She was an amazing cook, and her family couldn't wait for Grammy's homemade yeast rolls and fried chicken. Every Christmas her scrumptious divinity and fudge was thoroughly enjoyed by her family and friends. When her grandchildren visited, her one-of-a-kind Cream of Wheat was frequently requested. She loved going on picnics in the Smokies and was a "picnic waiting to happen!' In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Eric Wallberg and grandson-in-law, Aaron Lemmon. Louann is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Elmer Gross, sons, Bill Gross and wife, Lynn of McKinney, Texas, Bob Gross and wife, Linda of Dothan, Alabama, daughter, Shirley Gross of Knoxville, Tennessee, son, Lloyd Gross of Nashville, Tennessee, Grandchildren Leslie Gross Flisowski and husband Lance of Fate, Texas, Meredith Gross Lemmon of McKinney, Texas, Lauren Gross Coe of McKinney, Texas, Eric Gross and Wife Elizabeth Lim Gross of Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth Gross of Dothan, Alabama, Taylor Gross of Nashville, Tennessee, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 9th at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Gatlinburg, TN and on November 13th at 11:00 a.m. at New Providence Baptist Church in Carthage, Mississippi with Rev. Bob Gross officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery at Carthage. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to New Providence Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Cory Rawson, P.O.
