Becky Wallace Becky Wallace of Carthage was called home by her Heavenly Father October 7th. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 8th from 5:00 p.m. – 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Carthage. Services will be held Thursday, October 9th at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Carthage followed by a burial at Carthage Memorial Garden. Born in Edinburg, on September 8, 1947, Becky was raised in Edinburg and a graduate of Edinburg High School where she was an All-State Basketball Player and elected Most Beautiful. Becky married the love of her life, Jimmy Wallace and they had two daughters Jacqueline and Sherry. After marriage, Becky attended and graduated cosmetology school. In the early 1970’s, Becky and her dear friend Peggy Thaggard started Merle Norman Cosmetics of Carthage. They remained successful business partners for over thirty years. Becky loved the business because she got to do what she loved best, making people feel good about themselves. Becky loved her Lord and Savior more than anything. Church was very important to her. Becky was baptized at Remus Baptist Church in her youth. She later moved her membership to First Baptist Church where she helped start her couple’s Sunday School class and loved being a part of the decorating committee. She took great joy in preparing the church for worship. She was especially looking forward to this Christmas season. She loved her husband Jimmy of more than 49 years. She loved and supported him in every endeavor. She loved her girls, and her three grandsons. Family was everything to Becky. She especially loved watching her grandsons play sports. Becky was also an avid gardener, cook and entertainer. Becky loved her flowers. Becky made everything look beautiful. All that knew her would agree that she was the epitome of the Southern Lady. Becky was a very talented, caring, loving and giving person. Becky is preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Macy Kea. Her brothers Joe Edd Kea and Harold Ray Kea, and her sister Sue Kea Powers. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Wallace, her daughters, Sherry Holmes (Cliff) and Jacqueline Hernandez. As well as, three grandsons, Tristan Hernandez, Andrew Holmes and Alex Holmes. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Virgil Wallace and Doyle Lee Powers and sisters-in-law Dot Kea and Sonya Kea as well as numerous nieces and nephews . In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Carthage.
