Mr Robert Harry Daniels Sr

Robert Harry Daniels, Sr. Carthage, MS Robert Harry Daniels, Sr. a retired business owner of Carthage, died in his home on April 16, 2026 at the age of 85. Harry, a husband, father, and grandfather is preceded in death by his father and mother, Revered Oster Daniels and Marguerite Daniels, and his late wife, Bonnie Lee Nazary Daniels married of fifty years. Visitation and Memorial Services were Sunday, April 19th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Carthage with Jimmy Morton officiating. Survivors include his current wife; Ann Sudduth Gordon Daniels. Five adult children; Bert Daniels of Carthage (Lora), Debbie Barnett of Madison, Bonnie Beth Ingram of Carthage, Lester Gordon of Brandon (Laura) and Kathy Gordon of Crystal Springs. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren; Alyssa Daniels, Brandon Barnett, Briana Tharp, Julianna Coghlan, Christina Ingram, Blake Gordon, Cole Gordon, Taylor Nowell, Lauren Nowell and Brooklyn Wilson. 8 great grandchildren; Magnolia Coghlan, Rex Coghlan, Brody Houston Tharp, Aldy Grace Nowell , Anderson Nowell, River Rose Nowell, Gabe Wilson and Ryder Wilson. He is survived in death by his brother, Joe Daniels of Huntsville, Alabama. Harry was an active member of First Baptist Church where he was a part of the Adult Choir. He was a talented and gifted singer and enjoyed sharing his love of Jesus Christ though music with song. He was a graduate of Carthage High School and went to Mississippi College to further his education. Harry also served in the United Sates Marine Corps and was proud to serve his country. He was a long time business owner of B & H Dry Cleaners started in the early 1960s, and later started an archery and taxidermy business with his son Bert Daniels in the late 1990s known as Archery Alley and D & D Taxidermy. In 2013 Harry published a book called, “Tales from an Old Red Oak Tree Stand,” sharing hunting adventures of longtime friends and family. He was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, woodwork, and photography. He saw the beauty of Gods creation in everything. In his later years, Harry began to find new avenues to occupy his days. He began to make crosses out of cedar wood and different dioramas of history. This became a special hobby. He wanted to show others to know the meaning behind the cross and the sacrifice that Christ made for each of us. Pallbearers are: Terry Jones, Justin Jones, Maurice Malone, Brandon Barnett, Ken McMillan, Kirby Glenn Nazary, Earnest Greenwood, Richard Wilson, Blake Gordon and Cole Gordon.
