Sandra Kay Fletcher Carthage, MS With deep love and heavy hearts, the family of Sandra Kay Fletcher announces her peaceful passing. Born on January 8, 1947, to Ellen Sulton and Jack Dearman, Sandra grew into a woman known for her inquisitive mind, her kindness, and her boldness. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she leaves behind a legacy of strength, curiosity, and unwavering love. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Jerry, who passed before her. Sandy is survived by her son, Shawn Hoffman, and his wife, Gwen Hoffman, who were her pride and joy. She was a loving grandmother to Joey Hoffman and his wife Lauren; to Bobby Hoffman, and to her adopted granddaughter, Amber Thomison, whom she loved as her own. Sandy was also a proud great-grandmother to Mason Hoffman, and Amber's children Jax, and Hannah, each of whom brought joy, laughter, and light into her later years. Sandy approached life with an open mind and a thoughtful heart. Her inquisitive spirit made her eager to observe, learn, and appreciate the world around her, while her boldness helped her face life's challenges with courage and determination. One of her greatest joys was bird watching, where her curiosity came alive as she admired the colors, songs, and unique beauty of the birds that visited her yard. Above all else, she treasured her family, offering them endless love, support, and kindness. In her final moments, Sandra was surrounded by the love of her family and friends, who filled her last days with warmth, laughter, and comfort. She was a dedicated member of The VFW Auxiliary, and she and Jerry proudly shared a lifetime of service as members of the VFW, supporting their community and fellow veterans. Her loved ones are comforted by the knowledge that they will see her again in Heaven, as Sandy had accepted Jesus Christ into her heart and she was confident that those who also accept Him will one day reunite with her in eternal life, where sorrow and parting are no more. Her memory will be honored by her pallbearers: Joey Hoffman, Bobby Hoffman, Mason Hoffman, Craig Chisolm, Bob Myers, and Rudolph Gentry. Those who knew Sandra will remember her warm smile, her thoughtful questions, her generous heart, and the bold way she lived her life. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace. Visitation is 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Wilcox Funeral Home. Services are 2:00 pm Sunday, December 7, 2025, in the Wilcox Chapel with Bro. Mark Mayo and Kenny Gentry officiating. Interment will be in Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County. .
