Mrs Shirley Faye Mooney

Shirley Faye Parker Carthage, MS Shirley Faye Parker Mooney, 88, of Carthage, MS went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Her greatest treasure was the gift of salvation she received. Her next greatest treasure was her family. Shirley had a heart for children, animals, and flowers. She taught kindergarten and children’s Sunday school. She was a cattle farmer and had a talent for arranging flowers. Shirley was born March 21, 1936, to Alice and Houston (Jack) Parker of the Singleton community, Carthage, Mississippi. She graduated from Singleton High School. Shirley was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, Carthage, MS, where she grew up and later returned. She is survived by her son, Mike Mooney (Angie) of Carthage, MS; daughter, Rita Schneider (Bruce) of Madison, MS; daughter-in-law, Ellen Mooney of Oxford, AL; 7 grandchildren: Davey Mooney of Oxford, AL; Laura Posey of Moody, AL; Houston Mooney (Leslie) of Columbus, MS; John Mooney (Dawn) of Carthage, MS; Doug Schneider (Elise) of Madison, MS; Kurt Schneider (Stacy) of Madison, MS; and Stephen Schneider of Germantown, TN. 12 great-grandchildren; Trey Mooney, Berkley Mooney, Violet Posey, Zane Posey, Cade Mooney, Brantley Mooney, Caleigh Mooney, Colby Mooney, Hewitt Schneider, Lillian Schneider, Leila Schneider and Luke Schneider. Shirley was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband, Hulion Mooney, and her son, David Mooney. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Baptist Children’s Village, P.O. Box 27, Clinton, MS 39060-0027. Visitation will be at Corinth Baptist Church, Carthage, MS on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 3:00 p.m. Graveside service at the Corinth Baptist Church cemetery to follow. Pallbearers include Davey Mooney, Houston Mooney, John Mooney, Doug Schneider, Kurt Schneider, and Stephen Schneider. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
