June Denson Shepard Carthage, MS June Denson Shepard, 86, a retired school teacher, died Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation is 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Wilcox Funeral Home. Services are 11:00 am Thursday, March 11th at First Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Sephton and Bro. Stephen Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Standing Pine Cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Shepard was a native of Leake County and a member of Carthage First Baptist Church. She served on the Board of Directors of the Carthage-Leake County Library. Survivors include: a son, Phil (Dot) Shepard of Carthage; a brother, Jack Denson of Starkville; 2 grandchildren: Bobby (Mollie) Moss and B. J. (Josh) Stokes; 3 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Ansley, and Andie Jo. Pallbearers are: Billy Hugh Garrard, Craig Denson, Ronnie Shepard, Mike Shepard, Bobby Moss, Josh Stokes, and Gavin Moss.
