Mrs Mary Ann Bowman

Mary Ann Bowman Carthage, MS Mary Ann Willis Bowman, 79, a retired caregiver, passed peacefully at home surrounded by all seven of her children, special friends and family Sunday May 15, 2022. Visitation is 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday May 17, 2022 at Wilcox Funeral Home. Services are 2:00 pm Wednesday May 18, 2022 at the Wilcox Chapel with Bro. Eddie Pilgrim and Bro. Tim Cleveland officiating. Interment is in Carthage Memorial Gardens. Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Bowman was born Monday, July 6, 1942 to Henry and Roxie Cotton. She was a native of Belzoni, MS and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Bowman was a dedicated mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend. Her favorite color was yellow, she loved flowers and being outside in her yard. She enjoyed her shopping trips and all things shiny. She also loved her rescue dog, Sally Ann, that stayed by her side through many sleeplessness nights. Preceding her in death were her late husband of 30 years, Rick Willis, and her husband of 3 years, Van Ray Bowman, her parents, Henry and Roxie Cotton; sister, Bernice Moore; sister- in- law, Nancy Cotton;, brother- in- law, Gerald Ashley; and infant granddaughter, Charlee Ann Hynes. Survivors include: sons, Ronnie Ramsey (Kristy) of Carthage and Robert Ramsey of Saucier; daughters, Donna Osmon (Lon) of Columbia, TN, Shelia Rea (Chad) of Union, Stacey Brooks (Todd) of Carthage, Angel Measell (David) of Decatur, and Akemie Rigdon (Mike) of Ludlow; brothers, Robert Earl Cotton and Sam Cotton (Gayann) , both of Belzoni; sister, Emma Ashley of Richland; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are her grandsons: Chris Ramsey, Tristan Ramsey, James Ramsey, John David Willis, Hayden Brooks, Kenny Measell, Cole Measell, Brandon Myers, and Ryan Myers. Honorary pallbearers are: Lon Osmon, Chad Rea, Todd Brooks, David Measell, Mike Rigdon, Larry Kemp, Glenn Kemp, Joe Quinn Stokes, Pete Moore, David Herrington, Dewayne Ballard. A very special "Thank You" to the Kemp Family; Judy, Larry, Leann, Twyla and Glenn Kemp; Mrs. Sue Sikes, her lifelong friend, and David and Judy Herrington.
