Mr Morris Odell Nowell

Morris Odell Nowell Carthage, MS Morris Nowell, 75, a retired U. S. Motors employee and owner of Pearl Hill Mini Mart, died Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center-Leake. Visitation is 5 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Wilcox Funeral Home. Services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Pearl Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Randolph Scott and Rev. Duane Jones officiating. Burial is in Pearl Hill Cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Nowell, a native of Neshoba County, was a member of Pearl Hill Baptist Church and an active member of Lighthouse Church. Mr. Nowell was a member of the Leake County Firefighters Association, assistant Chief of Edinburg Volunteer Fire Dept., and an avid supporter of Leake Academy Athletics. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Nowell. Survivors include: a daughter, Kathy Chamblee (Keith) of Carthage; a brother, Kyle Nowell of Philadelphia; a nephew, Kyle Nowell, Jr. of Philadelphia; 2 grandchildren, Kristopher Chamblee and Kristy Boyd, both of Carthage; 3 great-grandchildren, Brayleigh Boyd, Emmy Chamblee, and Whitlee Chamblee. Pallbearers are: Tommy Malone, Jimmy Ingram, Chip Jones, Larry Lay, Michael Alexander, and Joe Crawford. Honorary pallbearers are: Doyle Wolverton, Joe Cooper, Jackie Henry, Cohen Fletcher.
