Mr Jerry Wayne Fletcher

Jerry Wayne Fletcher Obituary Jerry Wayne Fletcher was born on October 19th ,1947 and passed away at the age of 77 years old on October 25th, 2024. He was born to Clyde Fletcher and Effie Johnson Fletcher and was the youngest of 7 children. Jerry graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1965. He then attended East Central Community College in 1966 where he graduated with an electrician certification. He enlisted in the US Air Force and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He met the love of his life Sandra Kay Dearman in 1974 a.k.a. “Sandy K” and was married on June 30th 1976. They moved to Leake county in 1983 along with their only son Shawn Hoffman. Jerry served his community for over 35 years in various leadership rolls within the VFW Post 4970 to include Post Commander and Quartermaster. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sandy Fletcher, his son Shawn Hoffman (wife Gwen Hoffman) , two grandsons Robert (Bobby) Hoffman and Joseph (Joey) Hoffman (wife Lauren Hoffman), and his only great grandchild Mason Hoffman. Jerry is preceded in death by his brothers Ray Ellis, Joe Keith, Otho Neil, Bobby, and sister, Patsy Ann Harrell. Jerry loved to give you directions no matter where you were going. We are certain that no one will ever be lost now that he is in Heaven with his savior Jesus. He loved to banter back and forth if he loved you, so if you ever experienced that consider yourself on his “loved” list. We all look forward to experiencing that again one day. Jerry loved his “fur babies” and the OG of them all Ziggy Dog” was surely there when he arrived at the Pearly Gates. His other favorite activity was bird watching with Sandy K from their living room. We will always love you and we will always miss you Paw Paw, but we are so thankful that you knew Jesus as your savior and that because of that assurance, we know we will be together again one day in Glory with you and Jesus. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Mars Hill Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund or a Gideon donation. Services will be 2 pm at Wilcox in Carthage on Wednesday, Oct. 30th. with burial at Mars Hill Cemetery in Neshoba County. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 29th from 5 pm until 7 pm at Wilcox.
